Next Steps

We are all relieved to be out of the ICU- especially Hannah! She is back on 4 South with the nurses that she knows and has built relationships with.  It has made the roller coaster of emotions easier because she has a good support system.  She has undergone several evaluations from teams of doctors andContinue reading “Next Steps”

BYE BYE ICU

A lot has happened in the last couple of days.  The focus has been on getting Hannah to urinate on her own.  Her bladder has been non-responsive since they removed the foley catheter on Thursday. As a result, she has had to be catheterized every 4-6 hours to relieve the urine from her bladder.  SheContinue reading “BYE BYE ICU”

Still in the ICU

Hi everyone- it’s Jenean. Thank you for your patience with us providing updates. I know everyone is concerned about Hannah and waiting to hear about her.  Hannah’s days are full of doctors and nurses evaluating her and challenging her.  She does have some feeling in her legs.  Stronger on her right than her left.  SheContinue reading “Still in the ICU”

Surgery

This is not the blog post I wanted to be writing.  Hannah’s surgery did not go as we had hoped or planned. Midway through the surgery, the machine monitoring Hannah’s nerves and spinal cord indicated that there was suddenly no activity in Hannah’s legs.  The team working on her reversed their last action, but theContinue reading “Surgery”

Now We Wait

They just took Hannah in for surgery. She did great preparing this morning. The expected wait is 7-8 hours. Please pull out all the prayers and positive thoughts and send them her way. We need them today. Nolan or I will update as we get them. – Jenean

Day 12

“It’s unfortunate that we did not get a chance to make a video today but today was a rough day with a combination of constipation, vomiting and pain throughout the day. It was altogether the most challenging day I have had so far. The traction weights are up to 34 lbs and I am dreamingContinue reading “Day 12”
