Ohana Bracelets- by Aidan

Hi everyone, this is Aidan and today was the last day I’ll see my sister for another 3 and a half weeks. Today is the day of the surgery and me and my mom found a way for us to all stay connected as a family…

Bracelets!!!!! My mom and I ordered a bunch of pineapple bracelets that you flip and say Ohana. Hannahs’s favorite quote from her favorite movie “Lilo and Stitch”, “Ohana means family, family means that nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” Our whole family agreed that the rule of these bracelets is that nobody is allowed to take them off until the day Hannah gets back from surgery. These bracelets mean a lot more to my family than just a cool pattern, these bracelets are going to be what keeps our family together through this hard time. They are going to be what keeps this family in one piece while the hospital tries to split us in two. These bracelets are going to be what remind us that when this is all over we will be a family again and we will celebrate by taking a trip to Hawaii!!! Love, Aidan

  1. That is a beautiful thing you are all doing! I love the family unity, love and strength! Wondering which trip will come first Hawaii or Paris. Get those suitcases ready lots of fun and travel ahead! Sleep and gain strength for now Hannah!

  2. I love reading this post! The idea behind the bracelet makes so much sense to me. It can be so helpful to have some version of a touchstone during difficult times… And Aidan is fantastic writer! I look forward to reading more from him.
