Hannah’s Update After Day 1

I hope no one will be surprised to hear this- but Hannah knocked it out of the park today.  According to her doctor and several nurses on the floor- she has done better and been more active than any other child on the first day of traction.  She gives you the report in her video tonight- but here is a spoiler- she did 4 laps around the floor (which is a large floor) a separate trip to the cafeteria for lunch. AND THEN- she pushed the limits of all the rules and convinced her doctor and the floor nurse to allow her to go out front of the hospital so she could have a dinner picnic visit with Clark and Aidan.  She was determined – and her bravery and determination paid off.  Time out front in the fresh air with her brother was just the thing she needed today. As a proud mom- I can honestly say that seeing them hug today warmed my heart- they fight like crazy and they are so different- but their bond and love for each other was clear tonight when they saw each other and hugged tightly- both holding on for more than a few seconds (shhh…they will not appreciate that I shared that…) .

  6. I woke up wondering how Hannah is doing… and saw this amazing post and video! As I looked at the update, I kept repeating to myself, “Holy Shit!”
