This is not the blog post I wanted to be writing. Hannah’s surgery did not go as we had hoped or planned. Midway through the surgery, the machine monitoring Hannah’s nerves and spinal cord indicated that there was suddenly no activity in Hannah’s legs. The team working on her reversed their last action, but the nerve response did not return. After trying several things, Dr. Cahill decided to remove all of the pins and screws that he had put in and close Hannah up. She was moved to the ICU and a central line was placed. She is currently in the ICU, where they are giving her a significant amount of blood pressure medicine to increase the blood flow to Hannah’s spinal cord, to aid the fastest possible healing. At this point, it is too early to tell what we will face tomorrow, but for now she is stable. Please pray for our fierce brave warrior- she needs all the prayers she can get right now.
