Discharge Day! Here We Come Weisman….

Today was moving day.  We were discharged from CHOP and transported to Weisman Children’s Rehab Hospital in Marlton, NJ.  This is great news for so many reasons.  First, as Hannah will tell you-  there are many new restaurant and food options near here.  Hannah was tired of the CHOP food and the delivery places near the hospital in Philly.  Within a few block radius to us now is P.F. Changs, RedStone, Panera, Brio, Chipotle, Trader Joe’s and Chick-Fil-A among others. She is already planning out dinner’s from a new place each night.  Also, here at Weisman, Kevin is allowed in as a visitor.  Hannah was thrilled to whoop his butt in her new favorite game tonight- Monopoly Deal.  While she is sad that Aidan is not allowed in- she did get a few minutes with him this afternoon before she was discharged from CHOP.

Today was spent moving in, getting the correct equipment, and meeting with Weisman doctors. Tomorrow Hannah will be evaluated by the physical therapy team and a plan will be created.  In general her day will consist of several hours of PT, OT and recreational therapy.

We are so grateful to the amazing community of friends and family who have reached out to show us love and support and continue to keep Hannah in your prayers.  Her spirits are currently good.  She is feeling a little more in control of her recovery- getting out of CHOP was a big step in this direction.

Thank you! Jenean

  6. More food and more Kevin? That sure sounds like a step in the right direction! I love that you are planning out food options because it sounds like you’re going to need lots of energy for PT, OT, and RT! And I extra love that you kicked Kevin’s butt at Monopoly because that says that your competitive spirit is loud and proud! I can’t help but think that your competitiveness will continue to serve you well. Strong girls like to win, don’t we?
