Back to the OR tomorrow

Hannah is scheduled to go back to the operating room tomorrow morning with Dr. Bibbity-bop.  His preferred option after much discussion will be the Strong Procedure, however, we have consented for both the Strong Procedure and the Mesentery Artery Bypass as he is not sure if there will be enough room given her anatomy and the shifting of her spine for the Strong Procedure.  He will open her up and attempt that route first, but if that is not optimal, then he would divert to the bypass.  We are all very nervous about another trip the OR, especially Hannah.  But she was spunky today and told her favorite Ortho Nurse Practitioner, Ronnie, who is good personal friends with Dr. Bibbity-bop, that Bibbity-bop better not screw it up, and if he does, Ronnie better kick his ass!  Hannah and her kindness and spirit has made a positive impact on many of the nurses, nurse practitioners, staff and doctors here- and her room has been a revolving door all day with CHOP employees stopping by to check on her and wish her good luck tomorrow. It is a true testament to our little warrior that she seems to have a large contingency of CHOP pulling for her! Per Hannah’s wishes,  I will do my best to keep everyone posted tomorrow.  Please say an extra prayer for her.  We need this one to go well….

  7. I think that it’s highly unusual to see the phrases “spunky”, “kick his ass”, and “Mesentery bypass” in one short paragraph! It speaks volumes about Hannah’s strength, as well as the seriousness of the circumstances. I believe in the power of saying what you want out loud, and it sounds though you, Hannah, have done exactly that. You are wise beyond your years and inspire us all.

Sending support, positive energy, and hope for progress.
