A Rough Couple of Days but things are looking UPPPP!!

We have a lot to be thankful for today! The last couple of days have been hard for Hannah.  Her pain was hard to manage- and she was not able to get comfortable.  Now that she is an expert- she has been educating us all that abdomen surgery is much more painful than spinal surgery.  This afternoon she turned a corner and she was able to keep down some sips of apple juice without feeling nauseous, so they removed the sump.  For the first time in more than 2 weeks she does not have ANY tubes in her nose.  This was a true cause for celebration today.  The plan for the next couple of days is to keep working on managing her pain while she continues to sip clear liquids and eventually progresses to feeling able to try soft foods.  We are sad to be spending Thanksgiving in the hospital, but are really hopeful that if her positive progress continues, we will be out of here within the next week!  We want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving- we are so grateful for the amazing community of friends and family who have and will continue to support us through this.
