After 47 Days

47 Days

After 47 days and three surgeries- I am so relieved to let everyone know that we have brought Hannah HOME.

After much discussion with Hannah’s medical team- we felt it best to bring her home rather than to an in-patient rehab.  She has a lot of healing to do from her most recent surgery, and for her mental health- she needed to come home.  Also, with the spike in COVID- Hannah is at increased risk- and for all these reasons it made more sense to bring her home.  In order to remain healthy, our family will maintain strict quarantine so that we keep each other and especially Hannah, safe right now.  We will be working on her mobility from home and we have built ramps and made adjustments to our house so that she can be safe at home while we continue to work on her legs.  Our goal right now is on helping her heal- mentally and physically.

While she is excited to be home, she is exhausted, sore and more weak than she wants to be- so the first few days home will be concentrated on getting her settled, rested and making sure she can eat enough to nourish herself and keep hydrated (one of the rules for staying home).  Eating has been a challenge, but one that we are taking slowly.

We are so relieved and excited to have her home. Please join us in celebrating this huge step in getting her healthy again!  We have spent so much time scared and praying- it is wonderful to have some great news to celebrate!

  3. OMG BEST NEWS EVER!!!🥳. So happy you are both out of the hospital! I realize she still has a long road ahead, but being back with her family in her own home is the best medicine!! Take it a step at a time you will get there, give your body time to adjust and rebuild! Take pride and joy in each little thing, because while they may seem little they are huge strides!! Much love to you all! CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have come so far already! ❤️😘🥰

I know you will get all the care you need, amazing Hannah and I will continue to send my love and prayers for your gentle healing. Janean, I can only imagine the profound exhaustion you are experiencing. Please , now that you are home, try to slowly unwind and allow the rest to settle into your bones. I know that Kevin, Aiden, Declan and Bella are thrilled to have you both home at long last. I wish you all the calm, quiet peace of this season. I love you all♥️
